Anxiety & Stress

We all feel anxious at times, but if the level of anxiety seems to be constantly underlying and it is not easy to relax or sleep it can begin to affect your health.  Consistent anxiety places stress on the body.

The good news is that NLP, EFT, EMO, PSYCH-K®, Hypnotherapy & Healing Modalities can all reduce levels of anxiety. Sometimes we just get stuck in a pattern of being anxious resulting in stress. Overtime the anxious gauge can become oversensitive as the pattern is triggered more often. When we feel anxious the adrenals flood our system with cortisol.  Our bodies are designed to withstand this surge over a short period of time until the perceived source of danger passes. However, in the 21st century we are constantly bombarded by images and reports of world tragedies and perceived threats to our safety which contribute to consistent triggering of the adrenal response. When the adrenals are constantly being triggered the body’s normal functions – immune system, digestion, reproduction & healing are put on hold and not surprisingly your health is placed in jeopardy.

The techniques applied work holistically on the unconscious mind where the anxiety/stress pattern resides.  By bypassing the conscious mind it is easier to access the pattern and accompanying emotions to bring a sense of calm and safety. The calming response turns off the adrenal response and allows your bodily functions to resume bringing renewed health, energy and relaxation.

Free yourself of anxiety

Your unconscious mind is your faithful servant and its only mission is to keep you alive.  Sometimes it miscalculates the risks and over reacts.  The accompanying symptoms of anxiety - fast heart beat, shortness of breath, sweaty hands, nausea and dizziness bring such discomfort that they naturally are symptoms you would want to avoid.

Over time, when the stimuli for these triggers are not challenged and allowed to run the symptoms can escalate and stop us from taking action.  The anxiety can develop into fear of the fear and triggered simply by thinking of the situation/object of our fear for the symptoms to occur.  Severe anxiety closes down our perceived possibilities and stops us from taking positive action.

All of the holistic techniques can be applied to reprogram the stimuli as safe to do or be around.  Once the sense of safety resumes the anxiety dissipates bringing about a natural sense of calm that perhaps has not been present for some time.  Once you experience this calm state your logical mind has an opportunity to encourage you that it could be safe to do the very things you were anxious about.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When my anxiety kicks in my life is closed down. How can you help me to manage my anxiety?

Anxiety is a very effective way of stopping you from putting yourself in a situation you may fear, but as you recognise it closes your life down.  By working with beliefs and unconscious triggers  you can gain resources to detect and shut down the anxiety before it takes over.

  • I am not always aware of the anxiety or why it is there, but I know it is underlying. Do I have to know why it is there?

When you live with anxiety for a long period it can go undetected and you may just feel a little uncomfortable.  It is not necessary for you to know why you have been anxious.  It can be worked with by just knowing how you feel it in your body and your mind.

  • I sometimes think I am just an anxious person and am not sure I will ever experience calm!

Of course we all have different characteristics, but anxiety is not part of your personality.  It has been either learnt from a signficant person usually during childhood or possible passed on to you before birth.  We all have the ability to be calm, we just need the resources to help us achieve it.
