Losing weight can become a constant battle if you let it. When we do not have a healthy relationship with food it can be used as a comfort mechanism. Our relationship with food is created when we are children and often we are rewarded with food and think of food as an expression of love. Not surprisingly then when we don’t feel great about ourselves we seek solace in food. However, this usually results in overeating and indulging in high carbohydrate foods. The result can be that we end up feeling guilty and the whole pattern is triggered again.

To break this pattern NLP, EFT & PSYCH-K® can be used to bring a sense of acceptance of who we are regardless of our weight and build more empowering beliefs. In addition EFT can be used as self help if the cravings kick in. Once we separate out our sense of self worth from how much we weigh it is a whole lot easier to feel in control of our eating habits. When we feel good about ourselves we make better choices about nourishing our bodies.

How can these patterns be altered?

The patterns and habits that shape any behaviour reside in the unconscious mind and are triggered by perceived threat. When you feel under attack and unsafe you are more likely to resort to old habits that temporarily allow a numbing of the unsafe feelings. 
The answer is in a change of mindset regarding the initial trigger for this behaviour. By neutralising the stimuli there is no longer a need for compulsive habits. EFT, NLP & Hypnotherapy all work at the level of the unconscious mind to release trauma in the body and mind and reinstate a more beneficial measure of what is and isn’t safe. 
This allows the conscious mind to rationalise and have an influence on your behaviour breaking old unhelpful patterns.
