Physical Symptoms

Physical symptoms are frequently the result of prolonged stress and anxiety. Typical symptoms could be headaches, indigestion, stomach upsets and tightness of the chest. If stress and anxiety are continuously present the normal bodily functions such as digestion, healing and reproduction are diminished and the immune system becomes impaired leading to experiencing physical symptoms. Next time you experience some negative feelings become aware of any sensation that occurs in your body. The more stress and anxiety we experience the more likely these sensations become stronger and become consistent symptoms.

Our natural way of being is to feel peaceful and calm, and when we do, our energy system flows and our whole physical body is healthy. NLP, EFT, Hypnotherapy, EMO, PSYCH-K® & Healing Modalities can all promote a calm state allowing you to relax and be at one with yourself and the world. Self help techniques can be taught to maintain a calm and peaceful state and assist you in dealing with the stresses and strains of everyday life in a more effective and empowering way.

How can these symptoms be alleviated?

Once you become aware of the link between your thoughts and the effect in your body it is easier to make some changes.  The easiest method to alleviate physical symptoms is to concentrate on your breathing. When physical discomfort is present the reaction can be to hold your breath, but the very opposite is more likely to bring comfort.  Practise taking deep breaths in through your mouth to the count of four and out through your mouth to the count of four for at least a minute. Just by flooding your body with more oxygen it can have a positive effect on decreasing physical symptoms.

EFT, NLP, Reiki, EMO and hypnotherapy all work holistically to bring about a deep sense of relaxation and stop the adrenals from releasing the stress hormone cortisol into your body. When stress is consistently present, physical symptoms follow.

Physical symptoms are a warning, a red flag trying to get your attention that something isn’t right. By becoming more aware of your body’s needs and listening to the messages you can begin to address the changes that need to take place.  Perhaps you are working too many hours, your diet has become unhealthy, a relationship requires attention or you are not sleeping enough.

All of these life style issues can induce stress and reduce the efficiency of your immune system and create discomfort in the body that can lead to disease.

Now you have the awareness that you can take responsibility for your health by making positive changes to your lifestyle. The next step is to utilise the techniques available to help you on your path to great health and adding these resources to your holistic first aid kit.
